Black Beans



 450g of black beans 

half an onion

 2 carrots

 salt and pepper to taste

 1 teaspoon of hot sauce

 hot chili pepper flakes to taste

 4 dry bay leaves

 8 cups of water 


  1. In a pot pour the oil and start to heat up. Cut the onion and carrots in small pieces place them in the pot and let them sizzle.
  2. Then add 4 cups of water, your black beans, all seasoning, and bay leaves. without covering bring to a boil, lower heat, and cover.
  3. Let it simmer for 20 minutes add a cup of water. Wait 35 minutes add the 6th cup of water repeat this for the last 2 cups of water.
  4. Once you have added the last cup of water remove the lid and lower the heat. let most of the water evaporate keeping a close eye on your beans. stir every 5/10 min to not let the bottom burn.
  5. Remove from heat and serve.
